What is Direct Representational Democracy for Israel?
Direct Representational Democracy for Israel is a public, non-partisan initiative supporting the applied principles of individual rights and individual responsibility through direct representation and protections against abuses of power in government.
The initiative promotes specific changes to Israel's system of government.
- All Knesset legislators should be directly elected by absolute majorities in single-representative regional contests.
- Judicial appointments to the supreme court should follow a process of nomination and confirmation that involve the executive legislative branches.
- There should be absolute separation between the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of government.
- All government officials (including supreme court justices) should be accountable for their actions and impeachable under specific circumstances and through cross-branch procedure.
Who Are We?
We are regular citizens who demand accountable, efficient governance. We welcome the membership of anyone who believes that government's primary purpose is the protection of individual rights and the provision of essential governing services. We outrightly reject the concept that government should be structured primarily for the amassing and redistribution of public funds to subgroups through political patronage.
